What documents do you need to hire a vehicle?
Nothing complicated. Here’s what to have ready:
- Your valid driving licence
- A form of ID (passport or government issued-ID)
- A debit or credit card
That covers most bookings. Even if you’re visiting from outside the UK, you’re welcome to hire your vehicle from us, just get in touch ahead of time so your paperwork is sorted before you arrive.

How do I add additional drivers to my vehicle hire?
You can easily add another driver to your booking.
They’ll need to meet the same age and licence requirements as the main driver. They’ll also need to bring their licence and ID.
Get in touch and your quote will cover everything. Including additional drivers.
What’s the minimum age for hiring a vehicle?
You’ll typically need to be 25 or older to hire a vehicle with us. Some vehicles are available from age 21. Different conditions may apply depending on the vehicle, or your driving history.
Not sure if you’re eligible? A quick call will give you an answer.

What do you do if you have a breakdown or an accident during your hire?
You don’t want to think about it. But if it happens, you’re covered.
Just contact the support team straight away using the number in your hire agreement. You’ll get help around the clock if you need it. Roadside assistance will be arranged for you. And you’ll be guided through every step to get you back on the road with as little disruption as possible.
How much fuel comes with your hire vehicle?
Your vehicle will have at least a quarter tank of fuel. Enough to get you started straight away.
When you return your vehicle, just refill it to the same level. Fill up within five miles of our location and bring your fuel receipt with you on return.
If the tank comes back short, a refuelling charge will be added to your hire.
What insurance is included in your vehicle hire?
You don’t need to arrange your own cover. Insurance is already included in your hire.
Your standard excess is £1,500. For Luton box vans, it’s £2,000. That means if the vehicle is accidentally damaged or stolen, your maximum liability is capped at that amount.
You also have the option to reduce your excess to £1,000 (£1,500 for Luton box vans). Here’s what that looks like:
- Daily: £26.40
- Weekly: £184.80
- Weekend: £79.20
Add it to your hire when you book, and it’s one less thing for you to worry about.
When can you return your hire vehicle?
Out-of-hours returns aren’t currently available. So you’ll need to return your vehicle during our opening hours.
Be sure to check our hours before you book. That way you can plan your return.
Contact us to confirm return times for your booking.
What’s the mileage allowance on your vehicle?
It depends on your hire length.
One-day hires come with unlimited mileage. So you can drive as far as you need (just refuel your vehicle before returning it).
Weekly hires include upto 750 miles. That’s generous and covers most agreements comfortably. If you go over, it’s 14p + VAT per extra mile (so 100 extra miles would be £14 + VAT).
